The Ministry of Labor and Social Security, through the National Directorate of Employment, and the National Drug Board (JND) signed an agreement this Friday 6 to facilitate the employment of people assisted by the devices of the National Network of Attention in drugs. The opportunities will be facilitated through the protected work modality provided in the Employment Promotion Law.
The signing of the agreement took place in the Executive Tower, with the presence of the Deputy Secretary of the Presidency of the Republic, Rodrigo Ferrés; the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Pablo Mieres; the general secretary of the National Drug Board, Daniel Radío, and the national director of Employment, Daniel Pérez.
The institutions will grant subsidies of between 60 and 80% to private companies that hire people who are undergoing treatment arranged by the National Drug Attention Network, for which they seek to support the most vulnerable populations, Pérez explained, at a press conference. .
The 80% limit is the equivalent of two minimum wages, about 30,982 pesos per month. It will be aimed at households below the poverty line and at young people and people over 45 years of age, he specified.
He explained that employment contracts can cover various areas, from sales, administrative or various tasks in factories.
For his part, the head of the National Drug Secretariat considered that this is the final step in a process of treating people contained in some of the devices planned to overcome addictions, which culminates with job placement and rebuilding ties.
