Ministry of Labor received complaints against 49 companies that did not pay Christmas bonuses

The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security (Mtess) received complaints against 49 companies that did not pay the bonus to their employees, of which seven have already been brought up to date after the mediation carried out by the state portfolio.

The Ministry’s report reveals that 49 companies have been denounced, seven of them have already been updated, three have not appeared, two have withdrawn and the rest of the companies have hearings set for next week.

In addition, there are 10 firms that have a request for inspection for breach of the law while negotiations with the others continue to pay the bonus.

Companies that do not comply with the norm are subject to a fine of 10 minimum wages for each affected worker.

The largest number of complaints received corresponds to Asunción, Central, Cordillera, Concepción and Alto Paraná. The most affected are the following sectors: bakery, ceramics, gastronomy and private security.

Christmas bonus calculation
The institution has a digital tool to calculate the amount that each worker should receive according to the seniority they have in their job.
