Each Federation unit indicated eight priority targets based on a risk matrixwhich assessed aspects such as the severity and nature of the crime committed, links with criminal organizations, the existence of multiple arrest warrants and interstate operations.

“The implementation of the list represents a joint effort between the federal and state spheres to improve public security and combat criminal organizations in Brazil more effectively”, says the ministry, in a note.

The initiative also allows the exchange of information between states and encourages direct collaboration between the population.

Anonymous reports can be made via channels 190 and 197.

THE website is part of the Capture Program, a national coordination action aimed at identifying, locating and arresting criminals considered highly dangerous. The ministry informed that it will install an operational cell for the Captura Program in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

“The measure responds to the observation that criminals from different regions of Brazil often hide in areas of the state of Rio de Janeiro. The new structure will allow direct support to the state police and greater agility in the exchange of information to locate fugitives”, explains the ministry.
