Budget execution.
Referring to the budget execution of the ministry, Sánchez pointed out that of the RD$16.232 million assigned last year, 99% were executed, an execution that no public institution had achieved.
“We do not execute 100% because in December they close the accounting,” he said.
According to figures from the ministry, last year RD$9,213 million was invested in housing, for an execution of 98.6%; RD$5.338 million were invested in health, for an execution of 99.7% and in education RD$1.53 million were invested, for an execution of 100.0%.
Sánchez said that for this year they have more than RD$11 billion for investment, but that there are possibilities that in the Supplementary Budget they will increase the allocation again.
He explained that the relationship between capital spending and current spending is that for every peso in current spending, they invest RD$7.00 in capital spending, which makes them the most efficient government institution.
The Ministry of Housing and Buildings (Mived) is not only building homes, but also, by law, works on hospital works and builds the extensions of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD).
This year the second phases of several hospitals built by the institution will be delivered.
