Ministry of Housing delivered 50 housing solutions for people with disabilities

Authorities from the Ministry of Housing inaugurated a housing complex in the La Aguada neighborhood, and delivered 50 apartments with 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms, one of them accessible for people with disabilities. The families were benefited through the modalities of purchase and rent with option to purchase. The approximate total investment was $194 million.

The inauguration was witnessed by the Minister of Housing, Irene Moreira; the undersecretary of the portfolio, Tabaré Hackenbruch; the president of the National Housing Agency, Klaus Mill, and the director of Housing; George Ceretta.

During his speech to those present, Moreira expressed days ago that it is a day of celebration for the 50 families who received the keys to their new home, because it represents a dream come true and a sign that it is possible. In addition, he explained that access to these goods was specified in the purchase and rent with option to purchase modalities, and described the latter as a very good tool.

The complex, inaugurated on Friday the 8th, is located at Cuareim 1731 and Avenida del Libertador, and includes 70 homes with 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms, one of them accessible for people with mobility disabilities, common spaces, an open patio and garages. It is located in an area close to service centers, educational institutions and public recreational spaces.

The hierarch explained that, on this occasion, 14 of the houses will be for retirees and pensioners of the Social Security Bank, while the rest will be available to the population through a public call. Finally, Irene Moreira highlighted the presence of more than 60 children in the complex and predicted the formation of a “beautiful community that will permeate the complex with life.”

For his part, Klaus Mill said that the agency participated with its technical team from the beginning of the project in the construction process and that it will continue to collaborate for two years with the related administrative aspects.
