Ministry of Environment authorizes access to protected areas of Chiriquí

The Regional Directorate of the Ministry of the Environment of Chiriquí reported that after the National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC) decreed lowering the Yellow Alert to Green Alert in four provinces and the Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca, access to the four protected areas of the province.

“Visits by national and foreign tourists to the Volcán Barú National Park, the Gulf of Chiriquí National Marine Park, La Amistad International Park and La Barqueta Agrícola Beach Wildlife Refuge, will be allowed as long as they comply with the entry times and prerequisites, remembering the biosafety rules,” the entity said in a statement.

In addition, it urges the population to follow the recommendations of the park rangers stationed at each Control Post, and to be attentive to the prevention notices issued by SINAPROC or the Emergency Operations Center (COE) and to obtain information through official accounts.

On the other hand, he recalled that monitoring and surveillance is maintained due to the instability of the climate due to the passage in the next few hours of Tropical Wave No. 13 (typical of the season), “according to the Directorate of Hydrometeorology of the Transmission Company Electric SA (ETESA).
