The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) reports that the supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for home and vehicle use is returning to normal after the reopening of the Callao Terminals, which were closed in recent days mainly due to abnormal waves, that made it impossible to carry out loading and unloading operations of tankers.
According to Special Notice No. 78 of the Directorate of Hydrography and Navigation of the Peruvian Navy, dated September 18, 2022, the light waves from the southwest persist in the central coast of the country; however, it will improve in the coming days.
While the unloading of LPG from Pisco progresses, and in order to safeguard the country’s energy security, Minem has authorized, since last week, the use of minimum stocks of LPG, a volume of fuel that is stored and used to avoid shortages, in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation for the Marketing of LPG.
In this way, the governing body of the mining-energy sector has been contributing to the availability of LPG at the national level, meeting the demand required by supply plants, bottling plants, distributors and service stations (gas centers), among others.
Finally, the Minem informs that it continues to carry out all precautionary steps for the proper development of the hydrocarbon industry, with the aim of guaranteeing the continuous supply of fuels throughout the country.
