In the afternoon hours of Wednesday, November 2, the Ministry of Education began to pay 25% of the teachers’ bonus, corresponding to the second month.

This was reported by the Telegram channel PagosMppe and the Twitter account of the Association of Retired and Pensioned Teachers «The Ministry of Popular Power for Education began to make the payment corresponding to the second month of the year-end bonus for teaching staff , administrative and worker », is the message broadcast by the Telegram channel PagosMppe.

In September, the Minister of Education, Yelitze Santaella, announced that the bonus for teachers in the service of the State would be paid in three parts.

Likewise, the Twitter account of the Association of Retired and Pensioned Teachers assured that the payment of the second month of bonuses to teachers that is being made is 25%.

According to the whistleTwitter user Luz Victoria indicated that she received 500 bolívares as bonuses, equivalent to 57 dollars according to the rate of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV), and that with this payment in parts “absolutely nothing is done.”

The amount to be paid varies depending on whether the person is an active teacher, their level or if they are retired.

The first month of the bonus began to be canceled on October 5. At that time, an active teacher, with 14 years of experience and three school-age children, who asked to reserve her name, assured El Pitazo that the amount paid was not enough.

According to figures from the Venezuelan Finance Observatory, the price of the monthly food basket reached its historical maximum of 304 dollars (Bs. 2,626.56 according to the BCV rate) during the month of September.
