Ministry of Education declares transportation system bus tender void

Santo Domingo.– The Ministry of Education (Minerd) declared void the national public bidding procedures MINERD-CCC-PEEX-2024 and MINERD-CCC-for the contracting of bus rental services for the School Transportation System (TRAE) program, directed to micro, small or medium enterprises (MSMEs).

In a statement, the institution reported that the decision was due to non-compliance with some requirements by suppliers. However, he noted that he will soon announce the relaunch of the call to ensure the expansion of the service nationwide.

According to the technical report issued by the Purchasing and Bidding Committee of the educational portfolio, after the evaluation of envelopes A (technical offer) and B (economic offer), it was determined that the suppliers did not comply with the required legal documents and authorizations. according to the Purchasing and Contracting Law 340-06 and its modifications, as well as the implementing regulations 416-23.

Given this situation, Minerd highlighted that the participants were asked to correct the documents presented, but they were incomplete, which forced the process to be declared void.

Julio Cordero Espaillat, Vice Minister of Administrative Management and president of the Purchasing and Bidding Committee, stressed the importance of transparency and ethical compliance in purchasing and contracting processes.

“We are committed to carrying out transparent and efficient work, aligned with the principles promoted by President Luis Abinader and under the direction of Minister Ángel Hernández,” said Cordero.

Likewise, he announced that the Ministry will schedule a new call for public bidding under the same exception procedure for competitive selection, directed again to the MSMEs.

Cordero called on interested companies to be attentive to the procedure and to adequately prepare their proposals to ensure that they comply with the technical and economic specifications of the specifications.

The National Student Transportation System is a key initiative within the State’s public policies that seeks to raise the quality of the Dominican educational system. This program aims to ensure that all students, especially those in hard-to-reach areas, have safe and efficient transportation, thus promoting their well-being and facilitating their regular attendance at educational centers.
