The Ministry of Defense sent today (9) to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) the report produced by the technical team of the Armed Forces on the inspection of electronic voting machines.
According to the folder, the document brings observations and conclusions about the electronic voting system, according to the attributions that were given by the TSE to the inspection entities.
In the letter in which he asks that the military’s suggestions be accepted, Defense Minister Paulo Sérgio Nogueira mentions technical points that can be corrected, such as investigating the compilation of the system’s source code and a thorough analysis of the binary codes executed at the polls. .
“From the work carried out, I highlight two points. First, it was observed that the occurrence of access to the network, during the compilation of the source code and consequent generation of the programs (binary codes), can represent a relevant risk to the security of the process. functionality tests, carried out through the Integrity Test and the Pilot Project with Biometrics, it is not possible to say that the electronic voting system is free from the influence of any malicious code that could alter its functioning”.
The military are part of the transparency commission created by the TSE itself to oversee the elections, which ended on October 30th.

In a note, the president of the TSE, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, confirmed that he had received the report and stated that the work of the Armed Forces did not indicate the existence of fraud in the vote.
“The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) received with satisfaction the final report of the Ministry of Defense, which, like all other supervisory entities, did not point out the existence of any fraud or inconsistency in the electronic voting machines and in the 2022 electoral process”.
“The suggestions forwarded to improve the system will be analyzed in due course. The TSE reaffirms that electronic voting machines are a source of national pride, and that the 2022 Elections prove the effectiveness, fairness and total transparency of the counting and totaling of votes”, declared Moraes.
