Ministry of Citizenship will review the registration of Auxílio Brasil

Ministry of Citizenship will review the registration of Auxílio Brasil

The Ministry of Citizenship will review the Auxílio Brasil registry. The objective is to comply with the program’s requirements and avoid paying families whose income exceeds the established limit. “We have a very strong policy in this data collection, in this crossing of data to make the resource really reach those families that need it”, said the Minister of Citizenship, Ronaldo Bento, in an interview with the program Brasil em Pauta, presented by the journalist Paulo La Salvia, which airs this Sunday (11), on TV Brazil.Ministry of Citizenship will review the registration of Auxílio Brasil

The inspection work involves a set of bodies, such as the Federal Audit Court (TCU), the Federal Comptroller General (CGU) and the Federal Police. The crossing of information in the Cadastro Único (CadÚnico) crosses 34 data sources.

Auxílio Brasil payments, in the amount of R$ 600, began in August to families that fit the profile of social vulnerability provided for in the program. These families were also entitled to Vale Gás in the amount of R$ 110. These amounts are the result of a Constitutional Amendment, enacted by the National Congress, which increased the volume of benefits for the low-income population in the country.

The minister explained that Auxílio Brasil seeks to promote social change based on people’s autonomy so that incentives can also be a lever, a way out. “The main axis of the program is to bring opportunities to families, with these opportunities they are able to generate their own income and income is synonymous with freedom”, he said.

According to the minister, today, all families in poverty and extreme poverty are receiving the benefit. He explained that families that still do not receive the benefit must go to a Reference Center for Social Assistance (Cras) in the municipalities, to be registered in CadÚnico, a database that is a gateway to social programs. Pre-registration can also be done through the Cadastro Único application. The projection of the Ministry of Citizenship is to reach 21 million families receiving Auxílio Brasil by the end of the year.

During the interview, Ronaldo Bento also spoke about the Alimenta Brasil program, which aims to expand access to food for the population in vulnerable situations and encourage the production of family farmers, extractivists, artisanal fishermen, indigenous peoples and other traditional populations.

“The program aims to combat food insecurity by promoting local food production. This means that we have healthy food delivered to this population more quickly”, said the minister. “We guarantee the purchase of these products for the purpose of delivery to food banks and, from there, it goes to school lunches, it goes to this entire food safety network. It’s a food safety system that we have,” he added.

Still on the subject, the Minister of Citizenship also commented on the importance of Brazil in the production of food on a global scale, as the country is one of the largest producers on the planet. “We produce one out of every five dishes of food in the world. Without Brazil, the world would go hungry today”, highlighted Ronaldo Bento.

Brasil em Pauta airs this Sunday (11) at 10:30 pm.
