Ministers open the door to maintain their fight against Judicial Reform

“Everyone is responsible for their votes and is responsible for their public actions before society; I could legally not share and hence the discussion, but I am respectful even of the non-legal motivations that may exist,” he emphasized.

Separately and in an interview with journalist Azucena Uresti, Minister Javier Laynez explained that the SCJN has the option of presenting a complaint to international bodies against the Judicial Reform, and he said, they still have time to do so once it is already in place. they sold out

“You can make a claim. The judges are ahead of us, they presented it a long time ago. I don’t know, I’m thinking about it (whether to file the complaint). I would like to, because no matter how long it takes, if one day the Mexican State is condemned, we have to start somewhere,” said the minister.

Like President Norma Piña, he declared that he was surprised by Minister Pérez Dayán’s decision, since he believed that he would vote the same as the block of judges who have rejected the Judicial Reform.

“Yes, it was surprising, because we didn’t know exactly that that would be his position (…) I wouldn’t have anything to say (to Pérez Dayán), everyone is responsible for their votes,” mentioned the minister, who has taken a position against judges are elected by direct vote.
