“Today we begin the works that will transform Route 5 between Suipacha and Mercedes into a highway, other route ex PPP that by decision of President Alberto Fernández and Governor Axel Kicillof we reactivated to continue betting on production and a federal Argentina”, said Katopodis.
The minister added that “an investment of $4,323 million that is equivalent to 40% of the value that had been assigned to it with a scheme that only harmed Argentines, the routes in Peronism are designed and built for the people and so that the lever of public works remains firm in the country”.
In that sense, the duplication of the road will be carried outin 20 kilometers, parallel to the existing one, with two directions of traffic by hand.
In addition, five concrete bridges will be built at the junctions with the Hinojo (kilometer 108.3), Ranchos (kilometer 14.3) and Saladillo (kilometer 121.6) streams, as well as at the intersection with the two existing distributors in this section, on the local road located at kilometer 120.1 and at the access to the railway station in the town of Manuel García (kilometre 110.9).
These sections were part of the former Public-Private Participation (PPP) scheme initiated in the previous administration, but they didn’t get executed and for this reason, during this management, all the contracts were terminated and then the projects had to be redone from scratch.
