The complaints were presented to the INE party official, in charge of organizing the election.
Miguel Alfonso Meza Carmona, Úrsula Amaranta Martínez Barrueta and Luis Ulloa García, the complainants, pointed out the ministers for promoting their image in videos, interviews and events.
The campaigns of the candidates in the judicial election will formally begin on March 30 and will end on May 28.
The complainants ask that the alleged early campaigns be stopped to avoid inequity in the election.
The Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) determined this Monday not to reactivate the candidate selection process that is in charge of the Evaluation Committee of the Judiciary.
In a private session, the Plenary Session rejected the proposal of Ministers Yasmín Esquivel, Lenia Batres and Loretta Ortiz, to revoke the agreement adopted by said Committee and continue with the selection work.
Minister Yasmín Esquivel reported that the request – to revoke the agreement – was rejected with six votes. Only the three promoting ministers and Minister Juan Luis González Alcántara voted for the reactivation.
In this way, the Judiciary Evaluation Committee will keep the selection of candidates seeking positions in the June 1 election suspended.
