The Government Spokesperson Minister, Camila Vallejoaddressed the Chile Supports Winter Bonus, presented yesterday by the President Gabriel Boric and which consists of a payment of $120 thousand pesos to the most vulnerable households in the country. In this regard, he indicated that “we need it to pass quickly” through Congress and hopes that the transfer will take place in August.
“It is going with immediate urgency, there is going to be a discussion but we need it to happen quickly,” Vallejo said in conversation with 24 hours. In addition, he pointed out that if the vote is not taken before the parliamentarians’ district week, the benefit “does not reach the month that we must arrive, in August.”

The bonus will be delivered to about 7.5 million people, incorporated into the support networks of the State. They include those who receive the Family Allowance or Single Family Subsidy and beneficiaries of Securities and Opportunities, older people who are beneficiaries of the Winter Bonus, beneficiaries of the mental disability subsidy, the APS and PBS for disability.
To those mentioned are added households that currently do not receive these benefits, but live with a minor, an elderly person or people in a situation of severe or moderate dependency or functional disability, belonging to the 60% most vulnerable in the country.

The Secretary of State told the aforementioned media that the measure “was a collaborative effort with the different ministries to cross-reference information, particularly from the economic committee, and it is designed under fiscal discipline and responsibility.”
“We have been evaluating for a long time how to deliver aid, support measures to the most vulnerable, but having the resources and, therefore, thanks to the last income operation, we were able to reach 7.5 million people with these resources,” he added.
Regarding the duration of the Chile Supports Winter Bonus, he stated that “it is designed for one month and there is no proposal to extend it, because these are the resources we have at the moment. The idea is to reach families as soon as possible.”
