Minister Uriarte after AC’s rejection of Minister Jackson: “There was never any legal merit”

The Segpres Minister, Ana Lya Uriarte, referred to the rejection of the constitutional accusation presented by the Republican Party against the Minister of Social Development and Family, Giorgio Jackson, registered in the Chamber of Deputies and Deputies.

In this sense, the head of the Segpres reiterated what was expressed this morning on her arrival at the National Congress, pointing out that “we had faith in the parliamentarians in their good faith to, rigorously, in an analysis attached to the meaning they have constitutional accusations, make an evaluation”.

“That has happened, it has been made clear through the intervention of Minister Jackson’s lawyer (Claudia Sarmiento), as well as the interventions of those who were in the admissibility commission; for example, deputy Lavín (UDI), as well as that the deputy Sagardia (CS), Ericka Ñanco (RD) and Karol Cariola (PC), regarding the fact that there was never legal merit to file this constitutional accusation”, he added.

On the other hand, Uriarte thanked the parliamentarians who dismissed the accusatory libel, and took the opportunity to send a message to the Republican Party, who promoted the action against Minister Jackson.

“We would like to thank all the parliamentarians who, making this analysis in good faith, understanding that CA is not a weapon to make points of political criticism, but that CA is a tool available to parliamentarians to accuse a minister or a minister when they break the legal system. They are two totally different issues and in that case there was no legal merit, “said the head of Segpres.

Uriarte continued to thank legislators “both in the ruling party and others who, without belonging to government parties, have supported this rejection of an unfair constitutional accusation.” It should be remembered that the Lower House dismissed the AC against Minister Jackson by 68 votes in favor, 76 against and 6 abstentions.
