Minister Tohá will visit La Araucanía this Friday: she will travel with Undersecretary Monsalve

The Minister of the Interior, Carolina Tohaand the Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalve, will travel this Friday to the region of La Araucanía. This will be the Secretary of State’s first trip to the sector.

According to emmol, the flight will leave this morning and the visit to the area will last throughout the weekend. The head of the Interior would have meetings with the governor Luciano Rivasthe presidential delegate Raul Allardmayors and deputies of the region.

The trip was scheduled for next week, but ended up being brought forward.

Congress approved this week a new extension of the State of Exception in the provinces of Biobío and Arauco, in the Biobío region, and throughout La Araucanía.

Let us remember that the predecessor of Tohá, Izkia Siches, had an eventful visit to La Araucanía. In March, a delegation tried to visit the community of Temucuicui. However, on the way, unknown individuals blocked the road and fired shots into the air.
