The Minister of the Interior, Carolina Toha, reported Monday night that an intermediate-scale tanker plane will arrive in Chile on Saturday. As indicated by the Secretary of State, the Fundación Te Apoyomos of the Luksic Group managed the next arrival of the ship, with the aim of reinforcing the fight against forest fires that affect the central south of the country.
“It has recently been confirmed to us, during the meeting, that a new intermediate-scale tanker plane would arrive on Saturday, a little smaller than the Ten Tanker that we have today in operation… which was managed by the Luksic Group’s We Support You Foundation”, Tohá said at a press point.

According to the Luksic Foundation, the Aero Tanker tanker plane will remain in Chile for a month. This MD-87 aircraft has the capacity to load 11,300 liters of fire retardant and will support the work being carried out by the Ten Tanker, an aircraft contracted by the Government and which has been operating in the Biobío Region since Monday.
The Aero Tanker will take off on Thursday from Oregon, United States, and is expected to arrive in the country on Saturday.
According to a balance made by the National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred) on Monday night, there are 280 forest fires in the country. Of them, 80 are in combat.
In turn, the accidents have left 26 dead, 3,539 homeless and 993 sheltered.
