Minister Tohá after her arrival in La Araucanía: “We understand that there is a great need for dialogue and listening”

The Minister of the Interior, Carolina Tohá, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Manuel Monsalve, arrived in the region of La Araucanía to hold a series of dialogues with different actors in the area as a result of the current situation.

Upon his arrival, Tohá stated that “we believe it is important that the dialogue is also supported and find ears and welcome in the Government and, in general, in the central power.”

“That is going to be the effort that is going to be developed during the Government of President Boric, and that is what we have come here to give as guidance to the new delegate, so that his work is one more piece of this effort that we are going to make as Government of Chile,” he added.

Along the same lines, he indicated that they brought “the orientation with which we want to work in La Araucanía, a region that requires us to catch up to achieve what has truly been lacking in recent years, which is a State policy to face the challenges , the deficits, the conflicts that exist in this region, to ensure that people can live in peace, live safely, that the region progresses for each of its citizens”.

“The work we want to do here requires all hands, requires a great capacity for dialogue and collaboration with community actors, with the neighbors of cities and rural areas, with indigenous communities, with the world of education. , civil society, companies and different political sectors,” he added.

“We understand that many more trips will be required, we understand that there is a great need for dialogue and listening,” concluded Tohá.
