The national government launched this Monday a call for dialogue with the mayors of the Yungas of La Paz, to discuss a development plan for that region, and criticized the “childish attitudes” of the cocalero leaderswhich did not materialize any of the three managed approaches.
Remmy Gonzales, Minister of Rural Development and Lands, reported that tomorrow, Tuesday, at 4:00 p.m., he will hold a meeting with the municipal officials, the leadership of Cofecay and of the different regions of the populations of the sector, to propose a complementary development to the production of the green leaf.
“On three occasions they have not come, they have sat down, they have not put up with it, the third time neither of them attended, they will have reasons, they must want to wear down, but they will not, because this, their authority, has union training, technical, Y the childish attitudes of these leaders do not leave me sleeplessbecause a serious leader knows when he should sit down to talk, not do what is being done at the moment, take out colleagues, when we would have calmly resolved it,” said the headline.
He expressed his willingness to attend any call made by the two Adepcoca leaders, one that started on Sunday, September 4, and another that remains in its parallel marketalthough he reiterated that the issue is purely private and that a solution would be a new election.
The press conference:
“They have failed us three times, it is up to them if they really want to talk, if they tell us to get down, let’s go, if they tell us to wait for the march to arrive, we waitwe are predisposed to dialogue”, he ratified.
It has been almost two months since the coca conflict was reactivated due to the existence of two fronts, one that responds to Freddy Machicado and the other to Arnold Alanes. It is expected that the march of the first will arrive on Thursday at the seat of Government.
“While some march to be the representative leadership and others I don’t know where they will be, Mr. Alanes, we want to continue working. The Yungas sector of La Paz is not just a coca issuethere are other productions and other needs, health, education, infrastructure”, added the minister.
