His trip is part of a tour in which businessmen and representatives of the Peruvian authorities will participate with the aim of promoting investments in the country.

The invitation to attend this event was received in July of this year. However, the possible acceptance of this invitation by the minister occurs in a delicate context, marked by the crisis in Petroperú. Therefore, he would leave when the chips are burning in his sector.

According to the company’s board of directors, an urgent decision is required by the General Shareholders’ Meeting, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) and President Dina Boluarte. It should be noted that the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) is one of Petroperú’s main shareholders.

“Keeping Petroperú in ‘intensive care’ will harm all Peruvians,” warned Pedro Gamio, an independent director of the oil company. “There is not a deadline, but rather an urgency. There are shipments scheduled for the first days of September that need a financial guarantee to complete their operation,” added Gamio.
