In the midst of the controversy generated by the teleworking announcement during the days of the forum APEC, Raul Perez ReyesMinister of Transportation and Communications, clarified that this modality established by the government for today, November 12 and 13, is voluntary. In this way, he said, each company will decide whether or not to comply with the measure.
“Teleworking is voluntary, it is not that it is being forced. It will be voluntary only for some State entities. In my case, a good part of the Ministry will come to work, especially those in senior management. Finally, each company will decide, this is to prevent any problem linked to the strike that has been announced and we believe will have no effect, but so that the inconvenience of displacement of workers is not generated,” he explained in an interview with RPP.
Nevertheless, The government made remote work official mandatory during November 11, 12 and 13 in Metropolitan Lima, the province of Huaral and the Constitutional Province of Callao.
The rule indicates that the measure exempts from teleworking strictly necessary servers who participate in the provision of essential services determined by each public sector entity, as well as those who provide services whose nature does not allow this type of work.
