Minister Ángel Prado closed the electoral campaign for Communal Justices of the Peace this Friday with several meetings with the Popular Power in Táchira and Mérida.
From the Governors’ Residence in San Cristóbal, Táchira, invited by Governor Freddy Bernal, Prado gave details to the local and national press about this electoral process that culminates with the selection of 15 thousand Judges, with their respective substitutes throughout. the country.
He said that this election is a proposal made by President Nicolás Maduro to deepen our Constitution, our democracy; and to fulfill an outstanding debt since 2012, with the approval of the Organic Law of the Special Jurisdiction of Communal Peace.
He added that with this law, which was reformed last November, 2024 closes with a new election, “demonstrating that in Venezuela there is democracy, demonstrating that in Venezuela you vote, you choose.”
692 Community Justices of the Peace in Táchira
The minister specified that in Táchira a total of 692 Communal Justices of the Peace will be elected and invited the people of Táchira to go out and vote in this election. “This is a popular festival, we are all over the country working for these elections, and the Táchira has completed the work phases of this electoral route very well; Just as it has complied with the execution of all the projects that have been financed through the consultation, we have an excellent balance,” stated Prado.
Likewise, he indicated that with this election, and as established by law, the Communal Peace Committees will be formed, an instance that will be in each of the more than 5 thousand Communes or Communal Circuits in the country, and whose collegiate body will be represented by the Judges. and Judges.
Likewise, the Community Minister reported that the candidates who win on Sunday will be sworn in on Monday, December 16 and, subsequently, will go through a two-month training and training process under the guidance of the Judiciary.
The Communal Justices of the Peace
The minister explained that the Communal Justices of the Peace will be responsible for addressing problems of coexistence in the community. “It is the people of the neighborhood who are going to be aware of their people, their young people,” he said.
He stressed that they will have the duty together with the community to take care of children, adolescents, women and the elderly mainly; as well as ensuring the care of public infrastructure such as schools, high schools, clinics, lighting, among others.
“Every time someone tries to damage a luminaire in the community, the case must be reported to the headquarters of the Communal Justice and Peace Committee, the Judges must act and call the corresponding authorities for the sanction,” Prado warned. However, he pointed out that the ideal is to “try to solve as many problems as possible in the same community.”
He said that the Communal Justice of the Peace will also act on issues directly related to coexistence, such as meetings or parties that get out of control and loud music that does not let the neighbor rest.
Finally, the Community Minister pointed out that the Justices of the Peace will report to the Assembly of Citizens of each Commune or Communal Circuit, every six months.
Four National Popular Consultations for 2025
The minister announced that they already have the resources to finance more community projects next year. He indicated that President Maduro approved the formation of a fund of up to 800 million dollars to finance the 5,000 communities in the country.
He specified that this amount would be enough to finance 16 popular consultations in 2025, but they decided to hold only 4 to “increase the resources assigned for the management and works that the organized communities are going to carry out.”

Likewise, the Canta Pirulero Comprehensive Care Center in the community of Genaro Méndez was rehabilitated, which serves more than 40 children in extreme poverty with psychological help, food, education and recreation.
Boada invited the Community Minister to see the rehabilitation work and presented the Community Council’s dream of multiplying these centers throughout San Cristóbal.
Regarding the second projects, Boada reported that the Alianza community project on electrification was pending; and that of the La Castra Communal Council, which consists of the erection of a perimeter wall at the Villa Fanny School.
