The Minister of Security, Juan Manuel Pino, met on the afternoon of this Friday, October 14, with representatives of the district of Colón and with leaders who make up the Coalition of Unity for Colón (CUCO), to discuss the current situation in the province in terms of safety and prevention.
In this approach, Pino informed that they will allocate new units to this province to reinforce security and to strengthen preventive programs in Colón.
“We are working with young people in the province, we are concerned about the participation of minors in criminal acts.”
Pino also referred to the robberies and thefts recorded in recent days in banks and jewelry stores in Panama City and assured that all these crimes were programmed by criminal groups. He added that after the operations carried out in conjunction with the Public Ministry, there will soon be results.
He said that they are verifying the security system of these establishments, including shopping centers. In addition to this, the vacations of the police officers will be suspended to reinforce the police presence in the streets.
