The Minister of Public Security, Juan Manuel Pino, today inaugurated three new modular police substations in the eastern sector of the country, which were previously “ranch substations”, to give better performance to the units of the National Border Service (Senafront) and reinforce security in communities.
With the inauguration of these modular substations, there are 11 that have been built in the administration of the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo, between Chepo, the Guna Yala region and Darién, since better facilities and equipment are required for a service appropriate and professional.
“The fight against common crime, organized crime, gangs and drug trafficking should not be affected for any reason, because every Panamanian places their trust in our men and women of the Senafront,” added Minister Pino.
The first modular substation was inaugurated in the community of Barriales in the Chepo district, at a cost of 143 thousand dollars, which will allow effective security performance and guarantee peace and tranquility.
The other was in the community of Santa Bárbara in Chepo for territorial control, through the implementation of new substations and well-equipped control posts with more units, to strengthen operational capabilities at strategic points.
With this structure, built at a cost of 143 thousand dollars, Minister Pino said that the barrier against organized crime is accentuated and “we reinforce the appropriate security controls to maintain order and application of justice to those who intend to infringe it.”
The third substation was made by the Minister in the district of Pinogana in the province of Darién, so that the Senafront guards and protects the borders, which is why “good and decent facilities are required to face possible threats that seek to alter the peace.” social in this region of the country.
Between these three modular substations, the National Government invested a total of 429 thousand dollars (more than 2 million between the 11 substations), so that Senafront can carry out more patrols and provide an immediate response to any security situation.
