During this Monday, the current Ministry of Health (Minsal) made its last Covid-19 balance before the change of command on March 11. In this scenario, the head of the portfolio, Henry Pariswas moved when talking about what the work of the authorities has meant during the pandemic.

“I want to thank the citizens for their effort and collaboration, and for helping us, because each mask put on, each vaccine received and each one of the days of isolation completed added and contributed to the control of the pandemic in that fewer people got sick and that more people were protected,” the minister began.

“Facing the biggest health challenge we have ever experienced, made us understand as a society that we can all get out of this together and required the greatest effort from all of us, from those who speak to you and from those around me, from Monday to Sunday and 24/7. no exceptions,” he added.

In this sense, Paris stated that “the commitment, professionalism and dedication of health officials will forever be reflected in the history of Public Health in our country. And certainly this crisis forced us to face one of the greatest challenges it has ever had.” the health system, to vaccinate as many people as possible in the shortest time possible”.

In addition, he had words of thanks to “the thousands of officials who cared for, treated and cured our patients, often leaving their families aside; to all the mayors who were allies and who helped to get closer and in a better way to the needs of our beautiful territory; the pro-government and opposition parliamentarians who legislated when necessary to go to the aid of those who most needed it; to the media, to thank them profoundly since they always sought to transmit and inform citizens of what they should be done to take care of yourself and avoid getting sick.

In turn, “to the technical teams and officials of the Ministry of Health who had to give their best regardless of the time and day; to the communication team of La Moneda that has accompanied us in these long days and is eternally grateful for the tremendous effort, to make this space work and deliver information; I want to deeply thank the Republic President the trust you have placed in the Ministry of Health, in me, in the undersecretaries and above all I want to thank the team that has accompanied me over the years”.

Finally, he expressed that “the pandemic is not over, it is still going on and the next government starting this Friday the 11th will also have the enormous challenge of continuing to communicate, inform, plan and save lives. Just like this team, which was led by the health portfolio has done for the last two years”.
