«Today, November 8, we are jubilant. Why are we jubilant? Because we are celebrating 14 years of the founding of the People’s Guard, an institution born under the vision, as we all know, humanist and revolutionary of our commander Chávez. The People’s Guard was definitely another tool designed to strengthen the indissoluble bond between the Armed Forces and the people, consolidating a doctrine of social justice, active peace and patriotic love,” said the Sectoral Vice President of Defense and Sovereignty, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, in an audiovisual message broadcast through his official Telegram channel.
Regarding this significant date, Padrino López highlighted the essential role played by the People’s Guard as a living expression of the social commitment of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB). “The People’s Guard is the soul of the National Guard, placed on the streets, its social arm, its human face and its always supportive heart.”
Evoking a verse from the National Guard song that says: “I am found everywhere, it is my duty”, the General in Chief illustrated the vocation of service of these troops. “There we are talking about the town guard, who is in the neighborhood, who is in the school, who is in the social mission, in the heart of each community. Where others see risks, you see duty. Where there is a need, you bring hope.”
Likewise, he highlighted that each action of the People’s Guard reaffirms that “the uniform of the Venezuelan soldier is definitely a moral flag that will always be at the service of the people and the country.”
In his message, he urged the members of this institution to maintain solidarity in anticipation of the needs of the people. “Continue to be a social articulator without limits, guided by love, always guided by morality and patriotic duty. Well, that is the true union between people and soldiers. To preserve what? Well, our peace, justice and national dignity. Because peace is definitely not a passive everyday desire, it is an instrument that is built with action, conscience and daily dedication.
Finally, he sent a fraternal greeting to the entire family of the People’s Guard: “To all its officers, professional troops, to all its civilian personnel, to M/G Erasmo Ramos Iriza, commander of the National Command of the People’s Guard. Continue to fulfill your duty, with the same temper and love with which you were born as an institution. May God guide you, may the people support you and may the country always bless you. I expect much more from you. Long live the People’s Guard, articulators without limits, always based on social justice!”
