“We denounce a new act of sabotage in the public services of our town; a fire in the electrical room of the Libertador Simón Bolívar IFE station, an act that we roundly repudiate because it threatens the well-being and transportation service for the population,” he said.
He also assured that the corresponding investigations will be carried out to determine who is responsible for the incident.
During a telephone conversation with Venezuelan Television (VTV) in the evening, Velásquez Araguayán explained that the incident occurred at 6:38 p.m. on Tuesday.
“In the electrical room of the Libertador Simón Bolívar railway station, in La Rinconada, a fire broke out in the power plant, which we do not doubt was an act of sabotage motivated by the fact that we have recently carried out maintenance on all the circuits, all the plants, the entire structure of the railway and it is now in optimal condition,” he said.
The minister said that thanks to the quick action of the firefighters who went to the scene, they were able to put out the fire. “We have controlled this fire in record time, which affected the tranquility of the users who make a living, also during rush hour, of this important multimodal transport,” he added.
“From the Ministry of People’s Power for Transport we condemn these events. This is not the way to do politics, these are mechanisms that disrupt the tranquility of a people, who are firm, of course, in the direction we should take,” he emphasized.
