No orders? The Minister of the Interior, Vincent Romerorevealed that he found out about the police intervention within the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM), through television, because there was never a political decision. The members of the order would have acted for the crime of flagrante delicto.
“There was no political decision (to enter San Marcos) because that is a decision clearly made by the Police that it has had. I found out when I was watching the intervention on television. They have done it for flagrante delicto,” said Romero in dialogue with Exitosa.

When questioned about the complaint of abuse of power that was committed in the operation, the head of the Interior responded that it must “identify that there has been someone who has committed an excess or a crime of the personnel who intervened.”
Vicente Romero added that he has requested a report regarding the eviction in the Dean of America, where 192 intervened have already been released.
Regarding the suddenness of the intervention, the minister said that “by international standards when there is a large crowd to be able to intervene, and not have identification because for that, it is better that all the people are on the floor for their safety himself and those of the forces of order”.
UNMSM denounces abuse of authority
The Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos responded on the afternoon of Sunday, January 22, regarding the various information released after the Police entered its facilities to remove the protesters.
He indicated that the operation did not have prosecutors or representatives of the Ombudsman’s Office. In addition, he rejected the intervention of the Dircote.
Through a statement, he reported that he “only” asked law enforcement officers to release the doors taken by some students and protesters.
