The Minister of the Interior, Dimitri Senmachepointed out that the Prosecutor’s Office would be responsible for the escape of the former head of Transport and Communications Juan Silvagiven that he did not notify the National Police of Peru in time about the arrest warrant that the Judiciary had issued.
“From our point of view, there is a responsibility that the Public Ministry should also be sitting here to report why it took them two days to notify Dircocor, why not — having all the evidence — rather to request a request for video surveillance, they already had the audios, they already had the transcript, why they didn’t ask the judge for the order to lock down, to arrest the person. The search has to be done with an order, that order has to be requested by the Public ministry”, he said in Latin.
In this regard, Senmache explained that, despite the fact that the decision to arrest the person under investigation was issued on June 4, “due to fiscal strategy” it is decided to send the document to the Police on June 6. For this reason, the law enforcement officers could not hold Silva, since he was not aware of the judicial order and, if they had captured or followed him, they would have violated the law.

For this reason, the Minister of the Interior He denied the version of the Prosecutor’s Office, in which he assured that he informed the PNP about said orderand requested that they show him proof of it.
“That they show me the follow-up order and obviously I would sanction, I would ask him through the commander general to sanction those who did not do their job,” he said.
“There is not a single piece of evidence that tells us that we were aware of the arrest warrant before day 6,” he added.
