Santo Domingo. – The National Emergency Assistance and Security System 911 received the Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Raful, for a tour of its facilities, with the aim of delving into the operating model, innovations and technological capabilities of the institution in the emergency care.
The minister was received by the executive director, pilot colonel, Randolfo Rijo Gómez, ERD, who highlighted the institution’s commitment to inter-institutional coordination to strengthen citizen security policies.
“The 911 System is an essential pillar in the strategy of protection and service to citizens, and its success lies in inter-institutional collaboration and the continuous improvement of operational processes,” said Rijo Gómez.
The tour included an initial presentation, where a comprehensive vision of the services provided by the institution was offered. Subsequently, the minister and her team visited key areas such as Call Reception, Emergency Dispatch, Video Surveillance, the Command Center and the Drone Unit, demonstrating how each component contributes to guaranteeing an efficient and timely response.
Raful highlighted the importance of coordinated work between security institutions and expressed his interest in continuing to develop joint strategies for the benefit of the population.
“Today we met with the team of the National 911 Emergency and Security Assistance System to strengthen coordination in matters of citizen security. We are focused on making public policies based on data, on improving the collection and use of that data to protect citizens. 911 is a reference and an example for the country,” the minister stressed.
Participating in the activity, on behalf of the 911 System, were the deputy executive director, pilot colonel, Harold Jiménez Polanco, ERD; the Director of Operations, Luis Ferrand; and the person in charge of Vehicular Geolocation Monitoring, Ronald Rodríguez. The Legal Director, Juan Antonio Ferran, attended from the Ministry of the Interior and Police; the director of the National Center for Citizen Security Data Analysis, Omar Pérez-Rubiera; and the director of Public Relations, Gema Vargas.
