Juan Carlos Castro will have to answer 9 questions from the interrogatory document after the admission of the motion of interpellation against him, an initiative in the face of the inaction of the government of Dina Boluarte, because due to public pressure it was only after several days that the declared a state of emergency in Amazonas, San Martin and Ucayali, regions affected by severe forest fires.
Thus, the head of the Environment portfolio has been summoned for Wednesday, October 2 at 10 a.m.
“It is the prerogative of our congressmen. I will go on October 2 to report on the actions of the Ministry of the Environment in the face of forest fires and other information that has been requested of me,” he told the press.
He noted that he will also exhibit on the measures developed and future strategies in the face of this type of incidents. He pointed out that the Executive has proposed a bill with the aim of strengthening the National Forestry Authority, which is the Serfor, so that it can strengthen its capabilities and do more effective work in prevention.
“The initiative is already going to Congress and we have asked the congressmen to approve it because it will give the Executive and the regional governments greater scope and capacity to respond to this type of event,” he said.
This proposal is focused on the prevention and proposes creating a forest fire brigade that can contain forest fires in each of the regions.
