Minister of Public Works receives mayors of the Northwest Line

The Minister of Public Works, Deligne Ascención, headed this Tuesday a meeting with 17 mayors from the four main provinces of the northwest line in which they defined the priorities of the asphalt work and the construction of sidewalks and curbs to be developed by the Ministry of each of its municipalities.

The official and the mayors decade municipality From these areas they took stock of the different problems and exchanged information on road infrastructure and coordinated the priorities of each municipality in the construction of sidewalks and curbs, in addition to asphalt, whose global sum amounts to approximately 2 billion pesos.

The mayors were heard in session for hours by the Minister and their collaborators on the priorities of each municipality and the conditions in which each of them are and the executions that the institution is carrying out.
Ascención said that the meeting with the mayors is to see the different problems of each of the towns that they represent in order to support them in each of the executions that through the MOPC that President Luis Abinader has authorized in order to improve their quality of life.

“We have met with the mayors of provincial municipalities of the northwest line seeing different problems in terms of road infrastructure of the communities they represent, we have referred to the asphalting plans that we have for some of them and for the entire construction of the plan for sidewalks and curbing that is contemplated and will cover all the municipalities and districts present here and others that are not present”, said the official.

Likewise, he said that all these works are contemplated within the programming of Public Works for this year. “This is part of a line of communication that we are maintaining with the different mayors in order to join efforts between the central government through the MOPC and the municipality in the different representations of the municipalities and municipal districts to find solutions to the main problems that afflict these communities”, explained Ascención.

The president of the northwest line mayors association, Ramón Francisco Toribio (Samuel), who acted as spokesman, thanked the minister of Public WorksDeligne Ascención, for receiving them and listening to them with such positive attention.

“We feel highly satisfied after hearing the response that each one of us was looking for, above all, because in the country, President Luis Abinader has spoken of asphalt paving at the national level and we mayors, the resources we receive are very few to make them to our communities sidewalks and containments, which is the main reason for this visit”, he added.

He said that from the Ministry of Public Worksby order of President Luis Abinader, all the mayors, who belong to different political parties, get positive responses.

Participants

The mayors who participated in the Valverde province they are Esmerito Polanco, Laguna Salada; Freddy Dominguez, Hope; Odalis Rodriguez, Mao.

From the Sabaneta municipality, the mayor Félix Marte and Elvido Tavarez from Villa Los Almácigos from the province of Santiago Rodríguez.

By province Montecristi the mayors of Castañuelas were present with the deputy mayor Ana Jiménez; Jenrry A. Castro Villa Vasquez; Santiago Riverón Arias, Dajabón; Manuel Rodríguez, Loma de Cabrera; Ramon Francisco Toribio, Guayubin; Jesús Jerez de San Fernando de Montecristi and Ignacio Manuel Rosa, Pepillo Salcedo municipality.

Also, from the Dajabon province they were present by the municipalities of: El Pino, Nelson Peña; Euclides Valerio from Restoration and Ramón Lantigua, from Partido.

The meeting was accompanied by Minister Deligne Ascención, Deputy Minister Luis Bastardo, of MOPC Regional Coordination, Deputy Minister of Road Infrastructure, Melito Santana and Ángel Tejeda, Deputy Minister of Planning and Technical Regularization, among others.
