The Minister of Public Works, Édgar Montaño, announced the “flexibility” of the permits required by international fleets and stops the protest measures by the sector. Thanks to the agreement, the transport units that link La Paz with Chile and Peru will be able to extend their permits for two years.

The two-year license extension required allows you to maintain the current units for the same period of time. According to international regulations, fleets that make cross-border journeys can operate for seven years. Bolivia allows up to ten years to use them.

During the morning of this Wednesday, andhe affected sector proceeded to block some routes in La Paz. To avoid inconvenience to the people of La Paz, the ministry facilitated a dialogue that would allow a prompt solution.

Montaño clarified that the measure mainly affects the routes that go to Chile and Peru. In the case of destinations to Argentina, which cross through Yacuiba, the problem would not arise.
