European ambassadors and the Minister of Agricultural Development, Augusto Valderrama, carry out a work tour in the province of Veraguas, focused on sustainability, the environment and agricultural production of small producers and artisanal fishermen.
The head of the agricultural portfolio thanked the ambassadors, based in Panama, for traveling to the interior of the country to meet sectors of this region, in which work has been done to strengthen their life and production needs, through projects promoted by the National Government, together with international organizations.
The three-day tour also includes a visit to the Gulf of Montijo and Coiba Island, by the Belgian ambassadors, Guy Servin; Germany, Martina Klumpp; Spain, Guzman Palacios; Portugal, Goncalo Teles Gómes; European Union, Izabela Matusz and Nora Ivady, Chargé d’Affaires, from Hungary.
The working day began this Wednesday with a meeting in which the Vice Minister of My Environment, Diana Laguna Caicedo; the governor of Veraguas, Manuel Castillo Melamed, mayors, and representatives of government and educational institutions.
Valderrama stressed that this is the way that developed countries can contribute to better governance in this world, working together with less developed countries, contributing to social peace and democratic stability.
The tour also includes tours of projects financed by the European Union for the development of this province; In addition, a meeting with representatives of the artisanal fishermen’s organizations of the area of influence in the Coiba National Park and the MarViva Foundation.
