The Minister of Popular Power for Indigenous Peoples, Clara Vidal, spoke this Thursday about the events that occurred in Amazonas, where four people were killed in a confrontation with military officials from the Bolivarian Aviation.
Through a statement published on its Twitter account, the Office of the Indigenous Peoples indicates that it accompanies the actions undertaken by the Public Ministry to determine responsibilities.
“From the Popular Ministry for Indigenous Peoples, we hope that this case will be resolved and that the investigations determine the responsibilities that give rise to the application of justice.”
Likewise, the document states that they repudiate any situation of violence that violates human rights.
On Wednesday, the governor of the Amazonas state, Miguel Rodríguez, reported the death of four Yanomami indigenous people as a result of a confrontation with military officials from the Bolivarian Aviation, in the Parima B community, Alto Orinoco municipality.
“There was a confrontation between Yanomami brothers and colleagues from the aviation component stationed in Parima B, after the Internet was not shared with them, generating a confrontational situation that resulted in 4 deaths and 5 injuries. The investigations of the case are already underway, ”the regional president wrote on his Instagram account.

“We accompany the actions undertaken by the Public Ministry pertaining to the event that occurred in the town of Parima B Alto Orinoco, Amazonas state, where 4 brothers from the Yanomami people have been killed and 4 other citizens injured.
From the Ministry of Popular Power for Indigenous Peoples, we wish for the resolution of this case and that the investigations determine the responsibilities that give rise to the application of justice.
In the same way, we repudiate any situation of violence that violates human rights and we send strength to the families affected by this irregular event, also expressing deep pain and sadness for the events that occurred.
