Yesterday, September 27 in the city of Chiclayo the Minister of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, Francis Whittembury, He was giving a speech when around 20 people began to protest demanding the return of the money they had invested in the Chiclayo Bonito project. They stated that they gave their entire life savings to fulfill the dream of having their own home but that several years had passed and they did not have any answers.
“It is a shame to find the minister here when he has never shown his face to us,” said one of the protesters, alluding to the fact that they had already tried to arrange a meeting for 3 years with previous representatives of this ministry but their requests had not been answered.
The minister committed to the protesters
Because the words of the minister Whittembury They had already been cut, He had no choice but to approach the protesters in front of the eyes of the press and the public who were at the event.
The Minister of Housing recognized that he was facing a “scam situation” and gave his word to reach a solution since he considered that the residents did not have to be harmed by this project and deserved answers.
“We are in that line so that the bonus is returned to each of those affected,” he said.
Likewise, he specifically promised to return the money they had invested in the dream of their own home, he even stated that if this impasse had not been resolved until the following week, he would meet with them again even if he had to travel to that location again. “We give you our word that we are going to solve it,” he said.
Government is the target of criticism due to citizen insecurity
In recent months, citizen insecurity has not given up and now the victims of this have reached the transporters, who on September 26 carried out a national strike with the aim of demanding greater security and a solution to all the complaints of extortion that they have been presented to the corresponding authorities.
The Executive under the command of the president Dina Boluarte has committed to solving this problem and has declared states of emergency in several districts of the capital; However, this does not seem to be the most effective solution because attacks are still being committed against this sector that only requires work and they have warned that if they are not resolved they will once again call for a national strike.
