Health Minister Fernando Boyd Galindo visited the Dr. José Renán Esquivel Children’s Hospital and confirmed that there is overcrowding in its facilities.
He met with the medical director of the facility, Paul Gallardo, and discussed issues such as the execution of the new Children’s Hospital project, which is nearly 50% complete, as well as its financing, human resources and equipment.
According to projections, Boyd Galindo explained that this work is progressing within the time schedule and is scheduled for delivery in December 2025 or early 2026.
For his part, Dr. Gallardo mentioned that the company in charge works even on weekends to complete the work in the estimated time.
At the same time, the Minister of Health, together with Vice Minister Manuel Zambrano, and authorities from the Children’s Hospital, visited the different care rooms to learn about the current situation and find the necessary mechanisms to continue strengthening the services that the population deserves.
The Minister of Health concluded by thanking Dr. Gallardo for his work, who has directed this medical center with dedication and experience in the service of Panamanian children.
