The owner of the Ministry of Health, Rosa Gutierrez Palominorequested the Congress of the republic grant the confidence vote to the ministerial cabinet that leads Luis Alberto Otárola Peñaranda, who has already announced possible dates for their presentation to the national representation.
“Suddenly, I want to ask all congressmen to be positive about this confidence and let’s do it together. Let’s build this country together and above all help me move the health sector forward,” he told the media.
In statements to the press, the Minister of State pointed out the needs of her portfolio and expressed her confidence that the plenary session of the Congress grant a vote of confidence to the cabinet he presides over Alberto Otárola so that in this way “get ahead” your sector.
“I don’t think there are congressmen who oppose, for example, the unlocking of hospitals at the country level, that we promote the vaccine, that we bring the bivalent vaccine, that we equip health establishments. (…) I trust that all the congressmen, who represent the country, will have that responsibility to give us confidence; and, above all, in health they have to understand and help me in the management ”, he pointed out.
Alberto Otárola announced possible dates for the presentation of his cabinet to Congress
On December 23, the Prime Minister informed that his cabinet will appear before the national representation on 6 or 10 January in order to request a vote of confidence. This was announced after the meeting he had with the head of the Board of Directors, Joseph Williams.
“Part of that common idea of ensuring and laying the foundations of governability in the country is the presentation of the cabinet here before Congress to request a vote of confidence. (…) On the date, the president of the Congress has already said it. It will be on January 6 or 10, specifically. We are going to define that with the parliamentary agenda,” he said.
