The Minister of Health Luis Francisco Sucre stated that at this time the National Oncology Institute (ION) is supplied with the medicines that cancer patients need.
Sucre said that with the 3.8 million dollars that the Budget Committee of the National Assembly approved, they provide us with the support that the ION requires to continue supplying the hospital with the resources it needs.
It is now up to the Ministry of Economy and Finance to find the resources that are needed so that the ION can finish this year fully supplied.
“I talked to the director of the ION and he informed me that the hospital has all the medicines, he only told me about one that was missing and that the Ministry of Health already bought it, but there is a delay in delivery with the supplier,” said Sucre.
Lastly, Sucre said that the patients of the National Cancer Institute should be calm, since thanks to President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen they will seek the necessary resources to guarantee that all patients enjoy adequate care.
