The Minister of Health, Cesar Vasquezminimized the demand from different sectors, including business unions, to the government of Dina Boluarte so that immediate measures are taken to combat organized crime and restore citizen security.
“They want to use this issue as a platform to become famous,” said Vásquez and added: “when I refer to criminals, it is not only those who extort but those who in one way or another undermine governance so that they can do their fair share. There are certain groups that live off the government, off chaos and are not interested in the country.”

He made these comments after public statements from different business institutions. In one case, the statement from more than twenty institutions such as Confiep, Adex, Lima Chamber of Commerce, Comex, among others, which denounced that “the State is losing the battle against organized crime, harming thousands of families and businesses throughout the Peru”.
“There is a parallel government: organized crime, which is winning the battle against the State and destroying the country,” they denounced, and warned that this entire panorama “adds to the advance of illegal economies such as illegal mining that has infiltrated political power.” with blood money.”
The Lima Chamber of Commerce expressed itself in similar terms, warning that the government’s declaration of emergency in 14 districts of Lima and Callao “is not enough.”
Likewise, they demanded concrete and articulated actions with regional and local authorities to launch a frontal fight against organized crime, criminal gangs and the delinquency that afflicts our country.
Earlier today, Saturday, for her part, President Dina Boluarte assured that “the extortionists will soon be behind bars,” and added that “the battle against crime will be won by her government hand in hand with the Police because it has the support of our Armed Forces in the districts declared in emergency”.
