Through this invitation, the board is expected to report on the real situation of the oil company, which as of June recorded losses of more than US$450 million.
It should be noted that recently, representatives of the public company asked the Executive to take urgent action related to the State company in view of the crisis it is experiencing.
One of the proposals made by the board is the restructuring of Petroperu which would include the injection of private capital. Currently, the legal framework already allows private injection of up to 49%.
The parliamentary group also gave the green light to invite the Minister of Energy and Mines, Rómulo Mucho. He will have to respond on September 17 about the actions and policies he has implemented.
The committee also unanimously approved the work plan for the period 2024-2025, which establishes, among other things, the creation of six working groups to debate and propose draft laws.
