Minister of Education presents alternatives for the improvement of educational centers in Colón

In a dialogue with the educational community of the República de Bolivia school, located in the province of Colón, the Minister of Education, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, and her work team, presented alternatives to give continuity to the educational process and also announced a series of actions aimed at improving school facilities.

Situations such as the installation of a pump for drinking water and being able to supply the water resource to all the campus pavilions were addressed. The provision of school furniture was also coordinated, as well as the continuity of the works that are carried out for 4.7 million balboas, for the comfort of the 1,600 students who attend the school.

Currently, the school center has an item of 24 thousand balboas from the Fund for Equity and Quality of Education (FECE), corresponding to two items of 2019 and the funds corresponding to 2020 and 2021 will be delivered. The Items must be used in the acquisition of materials and attention to priority needs.

Subsequently, Minister Gorday de Villalobos met with teachers, parents and teacher leaders of the Juan Antonio Henríquez school, where she announced the adaptation of a room for the care of children with certain disabilities and the carrying out of minor repairs in its facilities.

At the Rufo A Garay school, the minister said that the delivery of computers for the different computer labs, repairs to 532 chairs, and the appointment of teachers who will work in the accelerated learning program will be coordinated. Regarding the electrical system, evaluations of the electrical system will begin, in addition, the construction of the perimeter fence and the installation of video surveillance cameras, works that will be carried out in the long and medium term.

During the work tour, Gorday de Villalobos toured the facilities of the En Busca de un Mañana school, where he learned about the work carried out by educators in favor of young people at social risk.

The minister was accompanied by the regional director of Education of Colón, Mixia Murillo; and the governor of the province, Irasema de Dale.
