Minister of Education: ‘More than 80% of the school population returned to the classroom’

The Minister of Education, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, indicated this Tuesday morning that more than 80% of the school population returns to the classroom after the teachers ended their indefinite strike.

However, Gorday de Villalobos recalled that in areas of difficult access, the return to classes will be progressive due to the displacement of educators.

In Telemetro Reporta, the head of Meduca, added that in the settlement of the strike the entity had already foreseen this gradual return in some sectors due to the maritime and air transport of several groups of teachers.

The second quarter will run until next Friday, October 7, while the last quarter will run from Monday, October 10 to Friday, December 30 of this year.

Regarding missed classes, Gorday de Villalobos explained that the strike month translates into 21 days of classes, which are three weeks, which is why an adjustment of two and a half weeks is being made to the 2022 school calendar.
