The Minister of Education Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, and leaders of the Association of Authentic Independent Teachers (AMIA), met in David, Chiriquí, and highlighted some of the academic strategies focused on improving the quality of education in order to start the 2022 school year in person.
During the meeting, as part of the work tour to the province of Chiriqui, Gorday referred to the execution of Executive Decree 2077 of December 1, 2021, which established the 2022 school calendar, they also discussed the training proposals for the new school year; curriculum and educational material 2022.
The Ministry of Education continues to implement a policy of conversation with the different teaching unions and the educational community to publicize the processes in which it is working.
The meeting was attended by Armando Espinoza, general secretary of the Association of Authentic Independent Teachers; Guillermo Alegria, General Director of Education; Carmen Aparicio, national director of Environmental Education; and Anabella Yepez, national director of Teacher Training.
In addition, information was presented on the policies to be followed for the acquisition of school furniture, eliminating the “ranch classrooms” and progress in the construction of schools Miguel Alba, José A. Sucre, Fernando De Lesseps, Republic of Costa Rica, Moisés Castillo Ocaña and Pedro Pablo Sánchez.
On the other hand, the issue of the publication of the contest for regional directors in compliance with Organic Law 47 of Education was discussed; they also presented the results of the ERCE tests.
Gorday highlighted the importance of these meetings in which he receives contributions and requests from teachers in a space for dialogue and positions favorable to analysis to find joint solutions for an education with inclusive quality and equity.
