The Minister of Education, Marco Antonio Ávila, referred to the latest acts of violence carried out by students from the Liceo de Aplicacion and the Barros Arana National Boarding School (INBA). In this regard, he lamented and condemned the attacks on a public transport bus and the Army.
“Hopefully the manual can be applied to the extent that they are identified and can be rightly expelled, because at this point we are not clear about what they want,” this without removing the right to education, he indicated in conversation with 24 hours.
The authority affirmed that “the population is tired, nothing justifies these facts. I wonder what relationship the attack on a barracks has with the student demands.”
Adding that these types of events not only harm public order, but also education. “I would not be able to say if this is anarchy, my question is how these actions contribute to educational improvements. We are focused on recovering learning, this not only interferes with public order, but also affects teaching.”
Regarding the acts of violence in schools, which affect the entire educational community, he indicated that “this is not minor, we see teachers affected by their mental health, they are afraid. We are talking about a group of students who are not raising a claim, it is the bully attitude.
Lastly, he emphasized that impunity should not prevail and that the students “must take responsibility.”
