The head of Education clarified his statements this Friday morning. “These vacations, which are clearly that, what I want to point out is that, in the deepest sense, they are not vacations that one understands (normally) as going out on the street, enjoying themselves, going to the cinema, going shopping or to a museum” , held.
“I want to say that it is quite a special vacation that could be understood more as a protection process, that is why we have invited families so that children are not necessarily outside their homes, because clearly what we want to avoid is the circulation of respiratory viruses,” he added.
Along these lines, he emphasized that “it is an exceptional measure given the rates of contagion (of respiratory viruses) that children are facing.”
Let us remember that the Ministries of Education and Health reported this week that the last day of the first semester for schoolchildren will be Wednesday, June 29. Meanwhile, students will return to classrooms on Monday, July 25.
