José Arista, head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, arrived in Cusco in order to hold a meeting with the regional governor, Werner Salcedo, in order to discuss issues regarding management and public investment and propose solutions to the current crisis.

In that, the local journalist, Carol Gonzáles questioned him about the PetroPerú issue, asking him why the State continues to allocate resources to it, knowing that it is a company declared bankrupt.

Apparently this consultation was not to the liking of the minister, who stopped walking towards his transport vehicle, approached the communicator and said: “Why is she so hateful, and speaking lies,” and then continue on their way and leave the place.

Given her performance, the woman from Cusco commented: “You have heard the minister’s statements, one is hateful because he asks the truth, There are several entities that have denounced that the money, including the workers of the National Bank, have indicated that it is not possible to continue providing more money (to PetroPerú).”

In communication with Mailthe Cusco communicator, cited that these types of responses and that type of behavior are not typical of a minister, who holds one of the most important portfolios in the country. “The minister was not very technical, he did not know how to handle the situation.”
