The Minister of Transport and Communications (MTC), Nicholas Bustamantereferred to the request for a vote of confidence and urged the congressmen of the Republic to listen to the proposals of the Ministerial Cabinet in the plenary session on Tuesday 8.
“That Congress democratically exercise its right […] To the congressmen, to evaluate what we are going to propose”, Bustamante Coronado stated in a brief dialogue with Successful from Chiclayo.
However, the head of the MTC indicated that he will wait for it to be determined whether or not the Cabinet led by Aníbal Torres receives the investiture of the Legislature to explain the questions against him. “In due time we will clarify everything”, he apologized.

Last Friday, Nicolás Bustamante was sworn in as the new Minister of Transport and Communications to replace the questioned Juan Silva Villegas, who resigned while Parliament discussed a motion of censure against him.
Bustamante is a lawyer and was secretary general of the MTC since the end of November 2021. He is from Chota (Cajamarca). In addition, between 2015 and 2017 he was a member of the Esperanza Front, a party of former Justice Minister Fernando Olivera.
Confidence vote
This Tuesday, March 8, a plenary session will be held starting at 4:00 pm to debate and discuss the general policy of the Government and the request for the vote of confidence to the Cabinet led by Aníbal Torres.
So far, only the Peru Libre, Peru Democrático and Somos Perú groups have announced that they will give him the investiture. On the contrary, Fuerza Popular, Renovación Popular and Avanza País announced that they will not trust him. There are a total of 10 benches and a simple majority is required to give the green light to the team designated by Pedro Castillo.
