The head of Labor and Social Security, Pablo Mieres, led, this Thursday the 1st, the opening of the Expo Inclusion, a fair that brings together labor proposals for people with disabilities from 35 companies. At the event, Mieres said that the labor inclusion of this population must be improved and emphasized that the State must build the conditions, not only with regulations, with practical instruments to advance in this regard.
The job fair, in its second edition, will take place from December 1 to 4, and combines face-to-face instances, at the Antel Telecommunications Tower, and virtual ones, on the website www.expoinclusion.com.uy.
The Secretary of State argued that the instance is an important signal to promote the employment of people with disabilities and contribute to their inclusion. In addition, he reported that the testimonials from the companies that assume the commitment are positive, and that they express relevant results in terms of the work environment and contributions of these people. “It’s a win-win, far from being a weight, a cost or a difficulty,” he added.
Mieres recalled that the law that promotes the hiring of people with disabilities and establishes incentives for employers that make contracts has been in force for more than a year. However, he maintained that the regulations are under permanent review to analyze the instruments and contribute to their improvement.
Participants will receive information from the main inclusive companies in the country, and will access human resources teams to apply for their job offers. Likewise, they may receive recommendations from experts in the area of personnel selection to improve the Curriculum vitae and optimize their job search processes. Presidency
